Restaurants
and Gasthauses
Graz, like most of Austria's cities, towns and villages, offers a
good selection of restaurants with local and international cuisine.
Very traditional Austrian food like Schweinebraten, can be found in
typical Austrian eating establishments (perhaps best described as
the restaurant for the local people, usually with good atmosphere,
friendliness, nicely decorated, and home-cooked food), which are
called "Gasthaus".
Restaurants serving traditional Austrian Cuisine include the
Stainzerbauer and Gösserbräu,

Austrian
restaurants and Gasthauses also offer opportunities to just
drop in for a beer, wine or Schnaps, as well as, of course,
something non-alcoholic. The centre of Graz offers many wine bars
and clubs, which are open until late at night during the warm
summers. |

chocolates (Mozart Kugel) are also widely available.
There are also regular Farmer's Markets with delicious Austrian
sausages, ham, cheeses, fruits, honey, cakes and other local food
